In March, Academic Support invites you to learn about the purpose and art of Referencing through a series of three practical workshops. This series aims to equip you with the necessary skills and techniques to 1) use sources with integrity within your assessments and 2) reference these sources as per academic requirements at NTI.
Workshop 1: Referencing Basics
Monday 11 March, 2 pm (AEDT), 1.5 hours
This workshop is designed to provide you with a thorough understanding of why referencing is key in academia. By guiding you as you engage in quoting, paraphrasing and summarising activities, the aim of this workshop is to give you the tools and strategies needed to draw on sources with elegance and integrity to build your argument in any assessment.
Workshop 2: Mastering Referencing, Part I
Monday 18 March, 2 pm (AEDT), 1.5 hours
This workshop consists of activities designed to teach you how to format standard references at NTI. The aim of this workshop is to equip you with the skills to use the NTI Harvard Referencing Guide for sources that you will encounter throughout your studies.
Workshop 3: Mastering Referencing, Part II
Monday 25 March, 2 pm (AEDT), 1.5 hours
This workshop consists of activities designed to teach you how to format non-standard references at NTI (including canonical sources). The aim of this workshop is to equip you with the skills to use the NTI Harvard Referencing Guide, as well as provide you with some advice on how to create and maintain Reference Lists.
